Born on March 10, 1983, Carrie Underwood was raised in a rural town of Checotah. Daughter of  Stephen Underwood and Carole, she has two older sisters, Stephanie and Shanna. At first, she performed in local churches while later she even started performing in Lion’s club and other such groups.
While in Northeastern State University, she had made up her mind not to pursue a career in singing. However, Underwood still tried for American Idol which completely changed her career path. As she not only competed but also won the competition. Since then, she never looked back.
