Kimberly Denise Jones better known as Lil’ Kim was born on July 11, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York. She is the second child of Ruby Jones and Linwood Jones.

Her parents separated when she was a child and thus she had to live with her father once turned 9 years old. However soon he was asked to leave and thereafter she started living on the streets.

During her struggling days, she met Notorious BIG , who soon became her inspiration in artistic and personal life. Beginning her career in 1994, she first started with the Brooklyn-based group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. The group was even promoted by B.I.G which directly affected their overall reach.
