Born on January 20, 1968, Melissa is the only child of Edgar and Joan. From a young age, she made dancing her hobby. When she turned 12, she became focused and started taking private classes to improve her dancing style. In 1989 after completing her formal education from University of Pennsylvania, she changed her surname. She borrowed it from her mother’s stage name and was now publically known as Melissa Rivers.
Over the years, she worked on TV series, TV movies and also appeared on a documentary with her mother. She even worked with E! cable network, hosting shows until 2003. However after getting a more attractive offer from TV Guide Channel, she moved on to new shows.
