Shahrukh Khan is the King of Bollywood, well it’s a fact that almost everyone knows but this tale of a superstar had a humble beginning in New Delhi. It was the year 1965 when on 2nd November this megastar was born in a Muslim family. As per reports, SRK’s paternal grandfather hailed from Afghanistan, his name was Jan Muhammad. Even today Shahrukh Khan’s paternal family still lives in Pakistan. His father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan was an activist fighting for India’s Independence in Peshawar. Khan’s father religiously followed the then leader Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. After meeting Lateef Fatima Khan, Meer married her in 1948.
SRK spent his childhood in Rajendra Nagar, where his father owned several businesses one after another but as none could perform well so he lived in a rented apartment as a middle-class family man. SRK excelled in academics while studying in St. Columbia’s School in Central Delhi. Apart from studies he also showed interest in football and hockey. Khan also showed early interest in Bollywood and thus performed on stage during his school days.

Later he joined Hansraj College in 1985 to study Economics. However, he also pursued his passion for acting and thus spent time with Barry John in Delhi’s Theatre Action Group (TAG). After completing graduation he enrolled at Jamia Millia Islamia to study Mass Communication.
Shahrukh Khan Moves to Mumbai
King Khan finally moved to Mumbai to live his dream. He started his acting career in the year 1988 with Dil Dariya, however, Fauji (1989) marked his Tv debut due to delay in production of Dil Dariya. Later he also acted in Circus (1989-90) which gave him new fame and love from his new audience. Some notable other TV series were Idiot (1991), Umeed (1989) and Wagle Ki Duniya (1988). Then after his mother’s death, SRK decided to work in Movies as he wanted to escape from this grief by indulging in work.

His firs Bollywood movie was Dil Aashna Hai (1992) whereas his debut was in Deewana (1992). Deewana marked the beginning of his successful Bollywood career as he earned the Film fare Best Male debut Award for his good performance. Then in the year 1993 Baazigar and Darr were released in which SRK acted in villainous roles. However, his Anti-Hero Charisma overshadowed the co-actors and his dialog “I love you, k-k-k-Kiran” became much popular amongst his fans.
Later on, Shahrukh Khan acted as a romantic hero in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The movie became an instant hit with the evergreen pair of Raj and Simran
In 2014 SRK along with Kajol (Lead actress) celebrated 1000 weeks of continuous shows for their Movie DDLJ.
