Born on September 30, 1985, in Tallahassee, Florida, T Pain began his career in 2004. His stage name is the short form of “Tallahassee Pain”. The name was chosen by him as he is always reminded of the hardships he had endured as a youth.
He always showed passion from music, and thus at age three he first tried his hands in a recording studio. It was Ben Tankard, who allowed him to spend some time in the studio. Later by age 10, he had already turned his own bedroom into a mini music studio. He used a beat machine, a keyboard, and a four-track recorder to transform it.
T Pain released his debut album “Rappa Ternt Sanga” on December 6, 2005. Selling over 47,000 copies in the first week, the album received a good response even from the critics. Since then he has released three more studio albums, which has boosted his popularity amongst fans.

Back in 2017, he had some issue with the police during his Fest Concert in Miami. The situation escalated and he was even chased out of the premises and detained. Then later after another concert in June, a warrant was issued for his arrest. It was due to a suspended driver’s license. After being held for 3 hours, he was finally released.
